british-policeA contract worth £655,000 has been signed by the British Transport Police. This contract demands a hosted, flexible, auditable payroll solution from MidlandHR. Using Trent software, the law enforcement agency will for the first time be able to view all its staff on one system and compile detailed HR reports. But something which is vital in terms of implementing important security profiles on individual employees.

Linkhill Consultants led the formal procurement process and now manage the realization project on behalf of the British Transport Police. Martin Onley, project manager for British Transport Police comments: "Our current payroll system does not offer a great amount of flexibility and is firm to change.
We chose Trent as not only did the MidlandHR consultants go the extra mile to really understand our needs, but the system can be configured to specific requirements and grow and change as our organization does. For example, in the future we are looking to take on self-service and potentially absence management modules, as well as to partner with MidlandHR in integrating this system with our central NSPIS HR solution, which is used by many other police services across the UK".

The new system will start in January 2007 for 1,000 of the British Transport Police's staff. It also includes all civilian employees and senior officers. This will be rolled out to the remaining 3,000 police officers in April 2007.
