dorchester-hotelThe five-star Dorchester hotel on London's Park Lane has installed a new HR and payroll system.

The contract to supply its HR and payroll software for replacing the existing in-house system from a previous supplier was won by the software provider Team Spirit. The new system allows handling the payroll for 535 enduring staff and 125 casual staff.

Searching for new HR and payroll software was not so long. The Dorchester found it fast. Before selecting TeamSpirit, an external consultant evaluated 10 different providers. System fulfillment began in May, with the first live payroll run completed in September 2006.

James Golding, assistant HR manager at the Dorchester, said: "Because you can customize the software yourself, you can tweak it to your exact needs and don't need to call in an expensive computer programmer each time you want to make a change."
